We favor benzoic acid because in our opinion it creates better quality nicotine salts than that based on other organic acids:

- the benzoic acid that we buy is of exceptional quality and of pharmaceutical grade, this purity guarantees the quality.

We have carried out extensive tests to verify the behavior of our nicotine salts in emission and it appears that benzoic acid does not degrade into benzene when it is vaporized under normal conditions of use. The emission tests are good and confirmed our decision. Finally, we have also decided to follow the bias of historical players who have been marketing nicotine salts with benzoic acid for many years without any health problems.

We invite our customers to compare their feelings between a nicotine salt eliquid from Fuu and one with nicotine salt formulated from another organic acid: the sensations are different. Nicotine salts contained in MiNiMAL eliquids and Fuu eliquids are created from benzoic acid. This organic acid is on the list of authorized food flavors (CE1334 / 2008 nomenclature). It is commonly used in the food industry and its toxicological profile is well known. This acid is interesting for the manufacture of eliquids because it allows the creation of a "complex" with nicotine (salts) simply and effectively . As part of this production, we use a raw material of the highest pharmaceutical quality (99.98% minimum purity), and Ecocert certified. The studies we have carried out show that its vaporization behavior is similar to that of a traditional e-liquid. The additional degradation compared to a traditional e-liquid appears at a temperature much higher than the degradation temperature of Vegetable Glycerin into acrolein (“dry hit”), which provides effective protection for users.

Stop the misinformation! “Endogenous” acids are not safer or less safe

Some manufacturers and users claim that endogenous organic acids are a better choice for nicotine salts. This is wrong and there is no scientific basis for it. The term endogenous refers to the fact that the human body itself produces a molecule. Indeed, the body produces lactic acid, for example, usually in the muscles during prolonged exertion. However, lactic acid is in fact “waste” that must be eliminated by the body. Many molecules are produced by the body and eliminated, as the result of complex biochemical reactions, and many of these molecules are unhealthy and should not be ingested. Benzoic acid is not endogenous, but its toxicity is similar to that of endogenous organic acids. Better still, it is commonly used as a preservative and is very well known and controlled, which offers indisputable guarantees of quality and safety. What matters above all is the quality of the raw materials and their purity. Fuu has access to an exceptionally pure raw material which justifies its use in our formulations.
