55% of respondents to the survey believe that vaping is effective for quitting smoking. This is a high figure considering the persistent misinformation surrounding this subject for several years. The same goes for the perceived danger of vaping. A majority of French people think vaping is less dangerous than smoking, but this number is low, far too low—only 53% believe this, which is astonishing given the real disparity in danger between tobacco and vaping!
The study also delves into the motivations behind quitting smoking and the perceived benefits of switching to vaping. Unsurprisingly, the main factors are improved well-being and financial savings. You can read the full study here.
At Fuu, we love these studies and applaud Kumulus for their efforts on this subject, helping to change public perceptions. At Fuu, we actively advocate for vaping daily, with Jean Moiroud's involvement as the volunteer president of the Interprofessional Federation of Vaping. Part of his work time is directly dedicated to defending vaping to the authorities.
Such initiatives from companies like Kumulus and Fuu are steps in the right direction. We hope that public authorities will one day recognize the tremendous public health opportunity that vaping represents!
